Local networks

ACLED’s research partners and local information networks provide unique insights on areas of the world where information is hard to access.

Local information networks

Through local networks and organizations, ACLED is able to collect information in hard-to-access places that are not well covered by open sources and integrate unique local information and insights into our data collection and analysis programs.

Local organizations benefit from ACLED training in data management and collection, visualization, and analysis; grants and micro-grants; ACLED expertise, data, and tools; and access to a global network of people and organizations working on aid, security, and development.

Before inclusion into the ACLED dataset, ACLED vets new local networks and organizations and works with them to incorporate best practices on secure operations, data collection, and coding methodology. ACLED takes measures to ensure they can contribute to the ACLED dataset safely and, if needed, anonymously.
