Two things to note about “strike events”:
“Strike events” include both successful and intercepted airstrikes, drone strikes, and missile attacks. Suicide drones are coded as fired from the air.
ACLED counts the number of “strike events,” rather than individual strikes. When several strikes hit the same location on the same day, ACLED codes them as one event.
