Scholars at Risk

Scholars at Risk (SAR) is an international network of institutions and individuals whose mission it is to protect scholars and everyone’s freedom to think, question, and share ideas. SAR arranges temporary academic positions at member universities and colleges to scholars facing grave threats for their work, campaigns for wrongfully imprisoned scholars and students, pursues legal advocacy to enshrine academic freedom as a human right, and mobilizes member universities, student activists, global coalitions, and advocates for the higher education community.
