Indy Smith

South Asia Research Manager

Indy Smith is the South Asia Research Manager at ACLED. He oversees the South Asia research team and is responsible for data review and analysis for the region. Indy joined ACLED in November 2019, initially as an India Researcher, then as the South Asia Assistant Research Manager, and later as the Quality Assurance Assistant before stepping into his current role. He holds dual Master’s degrees in Criminology and Political Science, as well as an MPhil and a PhD in Security Studies. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Bengali.
