Sofía is a researcher on the South America team at ACLED, where she has worked since February 2025. With six years of experience in social science research and NGOs, her work examines the gendered dynamics of the Colombian armed conflict and their intersection with extractivist agro-industrial development. She has contributed to research on land, labor, and violence in rural Colombia and has published in peer-reviewed academic journals. She has also presented her work at international conferences, including the International Conference on Global Land Grabbing. Sofía holds a BA in Political Science and a BPhil in Philosophy from Universidad de los Andes, graduating cum laude.
