Data update: Incorporation of data from a new source in ACLED’s Palestine and Israel datasets
ACLED updates its Palestine and Israel datasets with events from 2018-2023, enhancing coverage by 10%.

On 24 February 2025, ACLED published data coded from News 0404, a Hebrew language source, into its Palestine and Israel datasets from 1 January 2018 to present. This update adds over 1,700 new events to the dataset.
The new data significantly enhance ACLED’s coverage of ‘Mob violence’ events targeting Israeli settlers in the West Bank as well as demonstrations in support of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. With the addition of new data from this source, ‘Mob Violence’ events in the West Bank increased by more than 10% from 1 January 2018 to 6 October 2023.
