Data update: Integration of data from a new source in ACLED’s Pakistan dataset

New data published in ACLED’s Pakistan dataset

On 10 September 2025, ACLED published data from a new source ‘Urdu Point’, to improve coverage of Protest and Demonstration events, particularly in Punjab province, Pakistan.

Analytical Note: Events sourced from Urdu Point are only included from 15 August 2021 onward. This limitation should be considered when conducting historical comparisons with earlier years, as the addition of this source may affect trends, particularly Protest and Demonstration trends in Punjab province.
