ACLED’s aggregated dataset is a resource available to all registered users, providing a simplified snapshot of global trends in political violence and demonstrations. The aggregated dataset is updated weekly.

Aggregated Dataset Structure
| Variable | Description |
| week | Date of the Saturday marking the start of that week of aggregated data (Saturday to Friday). |
| region | Broad geographic grouping (e.g. Middle East, South Asia) |
| country | Country or territory |
| admin 1 | The first-order administrative division (e.g. state, province, department, etc.) |
| disorder_type | Three overarching categories: Political violence, Demonstrations, and Strategic developments. For more see What is the ‘disorder type’ variable? |
| event_type | Six categories: Battles, Explosions/remote violence, Violence against civilians, Protests, Riots, Strategic developments. For more see ACLED’s Codebook. |
| sub_event_type | Most granular event type classification. For more see ACLED’s Codebook. |
| events | Total number of discrete events recorded for the specified week, Admin1, and sub_event_type |
| fatalities | Sum of reported fatalities across the events for this row. For more see Fatalities. |
| population_best | Best estimate of population exposed to the events, based on proximity. For analysis, do not sum these values. For more see Conflict Exposure. |
| centroid_longitude | Geographic center point of the Admin 1 area (for mapping) |
| centroid_latitude | Geographic center point of the Admin 1 area (for mapping) |
