The Iran-United States-Israel war has exposed the limits of the regional strategies toward Iran. Israel’s escalation showed that Iran could still impose costs directly and through allied fronts, while the Gulf states' efforts to stay outside the conflict proved fragile as missiles, drones, airspace disruption, energy risks, and pressure on Hormuz pulled them into the crisis.

While the interim US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) offers a fragile window to pause hostilities and stabilize maritime traffic, it leaves Israel and the Gulf’s core strategic dilemmas unresolved. How to deter Iran? How far to rely on US guarantees? And, can diplomacy contain a conflict that has already spilled across the region?
