Situation Summary
In the Donetsk region, Russian forces continued making advances north and west of Donetsk city, in particular near Keramik, Krasnohorivka, and Ocheretyne, as well as occupied Berdychi. Intense fighting also took place in the Chasiv Yar and Lyman area in the northern Donetsk region. In the Zaporizhia region, clashes continued south and southeast of Orikhiv. In the Kharkiv region, Russian forces advanced near Kotliarivka and Kyslivka on the road towards Kupiansk. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces made territorial gains south of Kreminna in the Luhansk region.
Ukrainian forces conducted long-range strikes on Russian military positions and equipment in all occupied regions. After a two-month lull, Ukrainian strikes on Crimea increased to the levels recorded in early March, with missile and drone strikes targeting the Russian military airfield in Dzhankoy and bases near Simferopol and Krasnohvardiiske.
Russian shelling and airstrikes killed over 20 civilians in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Odesa regions. Russian strikes on Odesa city on 29 and 30 April killed eight civilians and wounded over 30, in addition to damaging residential buildings, educational facilities, and the local ombudsman office. Russian forces also conducted deliberate strikes on critical infrastructure, targeting gas and energy facilities in the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions on 27 April.
