In this op-ed published by the International Peace Institute, our Director for Research & Innovation Dr. Roudabeh Kishi, along with Angela Muvumba Sellström, Louise Olsson, Stephen Moncrief, Elisabeth Jean Wood, Karin Johansson, Chiara Ruffa, Amelia Hoover Green, and Ann-Kristin Sjöberg, outlines the role that the US, the UK and the UN can play in preventing conflict-related sexual violence. Specifically citing ACLED data that shows that other forms of political violence—such as non-sexual attacks, abductions, and forced disappearances, as well as mob violence—may also disproportionately target women.
