Situation Summary
In the Donetsk region, Russian forces continued to advance west of Donetsk city. In the Kharkiv region, heavy fighting continued in the areas of Kupiansk and Vovchansk. Clashes also took place south and southeast of Orikhiv in the Zaporizhia region, west of Svatove in the Luhansk region, and near Krynky in the Kherson region.
Ukrainian forces targeted Russian military positions, bases, and equipment in the Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions. On 23 June, Ukrainian forces also launched missiles on Crimea. In Yevpatoria, they hit a Russian center for long-range space communications. In Sevastopol, according to the local occupation authorities, cluster munitions from an intercepted missile killed five civilians and wounded over 150 others, including 28 children. Separately, Russian-installed staff of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant claimed that Ukrainian shelling destroyed one of the external radiation monitoring stations near Enerhodar.
Russian shelling, missiles, and drones killed around 30 civilians in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions. Russian airstrikes on Kharkiv city on 22 and 23 June killed four civilians and wounded over 60 others. On 24 June, Russian missiles reportedly killed five civilians and wounded around 50 in Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. On 28 June, Russian missiles hit a residential building in Dnipro in the Dnipropetrovsk region, reportedly killing at least two civilians and wounding 12 others.
