Sara K. Guthrie is the US specialist for the ACLED Crisis Monitor ahead of the 2024 US presidential elections. In this role, she collaborates with the Analysis team to produces monthly reports that provide insights regarding the lead-up to the 2024 election alongside the Analysis and External Affairs teams.
Sara holds a master's degree in Applied Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Boston and is currently a doctoral candidate in the department of Sociology and Anthropology at West Virginia University. Her specialties include social movements and collective action, and sociology of religion. Her doctoral research focuses primarily on the intersection between religion and politics, with an emphasis on how mobilization efforts impact political discourse within closed religious communities
