Dr Adnan Naseemullah is a comparative political scientist. He joined the King’s College in September 2014, after teaching at Johns Hopkins University and the London School of Economics.
Dr Naseemullah’s first book, Development after Statism (Cambridge University Press, 2017), focuses on the nature of industrial development and the institutional strategies of firms after neoliberal reform. His second book, Patchwork States (Cambridge University Press, 2022), explains patterns of political violence and political competition in contemporary South Asia through an examination of how governance institutions were constructed during colonial rule. His research has also appeared in the Third World Quarterly, Journal of Development Studies, Journal of Strategic Studies, Comparative Politics, Political Geography, Governance, Studies in Comparative International Development, India Review, Asian Studies, Studies in Indian Politics and the Journal of Human Rights.
