Erin Miller
As the Chief of Global Programs at ACLED, Dr. Erin Miller leads the Global Data Collection, Analysis, Methodology, and Data Science teams. She collaborates with other members of the Executive and Senior Leadership teams to develop and implement organizational strategic plans, and define ACLED’s objectives, priorities, policies, and key performance indicators.
Prior to joining ACLED in 2023, Dr. Miller led the Global Terrorism Database research team as co-creator and principal investigator. Her research has focused on patterns of terrorism worldwide, the motivations and tactics of targeted violence, the rise and fall of organizations that engage in terrorist violence, and methodological innovation in measurement and data collection. She holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MA and PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland.
