Ajla Henic is a Western Europe Researcher at ACLED with a special focus on Spain, Portugal, and Andorra. She graduated from the University of Granada in Political Science and Law. Ajla holds an MA in Nationalism Studies from Central European University and a second MA in Democracy and Human Rights from the University of Bologna and the University of Sarajevo. She previously worked with open government and transparency initiatives and completed a Schuman Traineeship at the Secretariat of the European Parliament, Directorate-General for External Policies. Her research interests include transitional justice, post-conflict studies, and human rights. She is fluent in Spanish, English, Bosnian-Serbo-Croat (BSC), and basic Portuguese.
