Miguel Chambel is a Middle and Eastern Africa Researcher at ACLED. He has been responsible for the coding of information on DRC, Angola, Uganda, Tanzania and Mozambique since October 2017. During his MA in International Relations, Miguel explored research on armed conflict during the Mozambican Civil War at the Institute of Political Science of Leiden University, as well as human rights in the EU, especially the intersection of sexual orientation and gender identity issues with European politics. Miguel has worked on multiple initiatives with the Council of Europe. His interests in political violence and armed conflict stems from his general interest in human rights issues.
