Ameneh Mehvar
Ameneh Mehvar is a Middle East Regional Specialist with ACLED. In this role, she coordinates and contributes to Middle East analysis products, provides regional expertise to ensure the accuracy of ACLED data coverage, and supports the organization’s engagement with external partners and the media.
Dr. Ameneh has expertise in Middle East security and foreign policy affairs, with a focus on Persian Gulf security, Israeli-Palestinian violence, and the conflict between Turkey and Kurdish armed groups. Previously, she has worked as a political risk consultant in the private, as well as the public sector. She has also taught and conducted academic research as an Economic and Social Research Council fellow. Ameneh holds a master’s degree in Middle East and Central Asian Security Studies, and a PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrew, Scotland.
