Dr. Emily Helms is an Africa Research Manager with ACLED. Emily holds a PhD in Government and a Master of International Affairs. Her research interests include protection of civilians in peace operations, with a focus on operations in Africa. Before coming to ACLED, Emily was Amnesty International USA’s country specialist for The Gambia and assisted with coverage of human rights issues in the Niger Delta.
