Susanna Deetlefs is an Africa Research Manager at ACLED and has been with the organization since January 2019, starting as a Southern Africa researcher. She currently leads the day-to-day management of the East and Southern Africa regions of the Africa desk. She holds an MSc Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding from Durham University, United Kingdom, and an MA in Security Studies from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Susanna has over four years of experience working with different organizations, focusing on gendered security, peacebuilding, political violence, transnational organized crime, and research on child soldiers.
